MusingsPosted by snowy Fri, August 27, 2010 18:50:12 Following on from news of the two conversions to make your airsoft Glock 17 or 18C into a PDW/Carbine, another little gizmo's appeared.
MusingsPosted by snowy Tue, August 10, 2010 08:39:26 An interesting spate of new conversion kits to turn your full size Glock (17 or more likely 18C) into a 'carbine' have appeared.
One is the
AABB HR Style GLOCK Carbine Conversion Kit
which requires no disassembly of your KSC or TM Glock, the gun just slipping in.
Cocking is accomplished by the cocking handle on the carbine stock interacting with the rear sight on the Glock.
Another is the Roni conversion which, to my eyes anyway, looks less utilitarian.
So far I've only seen spyshots so the following shot is of the real thing (hence the live rounds in the mag), but you'll get the idea.
I can see a great aftermarket opportunity for long extension barrels (especially for the already accurate TM Glock) to fit inside suppressors, making an interesting PDW/SMG.
The AABB HR version is already out at your favourite Airsoft Retailer - UN Company in Hong Kong are selling it at a very affordable $60.
Got to be worth getting if you're a Glock fan, surely?
MusingsPosted by snowy Tue, August 03, 2010 20:13:58 Even makers Madbull point out this is a limited edition product 'for collectors', but if you are absolutely stuck for what to buy the airsofter in your life, how about a Gold (I'm assuming it's plated) Noveske KX3 'sound enhancer' (I reviewed a black one on the site and in Airsoft International a while ago).
Limited to just 200 pieces worldwide, it's been 2 years since the last batch, so buy yours now if you feel this is what your airsoft life is missing!
MusingsPosted by snowy Mon, August 02, 2010 11:23:52 Been very quiet here, so here are a few updates.
First off, Tokyo Marui have added a new variant of the Glock 18C select fire pistol to their range.
This one is a Gas Blowback which promises to be extremely popular provided it can build on the success of their Glock 17 replica.
Retail price in Hong Kong is around $150 (Redwolf - you must add shipping and VAT charges to this) with Elite (in the UK) selling them for £142 inc VAT. The long mags are priced at $39/£35 and will work with TM's Glock 17 too.
I'd love to post up a review, but unless some kind retailer or owner would like to lend me one to test, thanks to the VCR Act I cannot obtain one.
Drop me a mail if you're in a position to help!
Secondly, Madbull have announced some BBs especially for the target shooters out there.
Being made of glass (.28g) and aluminum (.3g) they're absolutely not suitable for skirmishing, but Madbull claim they're :
100% zero bubble Earth Friendly Perfect for target practice.
They were kind enough to send me some for review, so I'll be posting my findings in due course.
MusingsPosted by snowy Tue, December 29, 2009 10:44:58 Something that's has long been neglected in airsoft is Soviet weapons pre the Kalashnikov.
The only sidearm even vaguely Warsaw Pact/Soviet was the CZ-75, so it's interesting to see Taiwanese Star Rainbow Corp (Better known as SRC) announce a full metal GBB Tokarev TT-33 amongs their 2010 range of GBBs.
SRC are new to GBBs, but it's nice to see someone doing something different - I just hope it's not a straight clone of the woeful Hudson GBB...
Amongst their plastic range, there's also a clone FN 5-7 USG.
